Peterson had been stabbed to death, and a few articles of personal property, including an automobile, had been taken from the residence. That same day, the Clearwater County sheriff learned that the deceaseds automobile was in the possession of Binkley Auto Sales in Lewiston, Idaho, and that the car had been traded to Binkleys by the defendant Terry Olin on October 14, 1977.
